Many Xbox One X fans wanted to use the Kinect for basic Xbox voice commands, interacting with Cortana, Skype video-calls, or the massive amount of Kinect-enabled video games.

Unfortunately, all these users were left disappointed because you need an Xbox Kinect Adaptor to connect the Kinect to the Xbox One X .

This was not the reason for the disappointment; the reason was the fact that this Xbox Kinect Adaptor has been sold out on Microsoft Store, Amazon and other retailers.
