1. Modify the registry

1. Press the Windows key + R and type regedit. Click OK.
    
2. Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
   
3. Now, on the right side panel, look for UpperFilters, right-click it, and choose Delete feature.
   
4. Confirm that you want to delete it.
5. Do the same for the LowerFilters.

2. Physically clean the laser

3. After you finish cleaning, insert the CD/DVD bay back in.

3. Check the DVD and disable the burning software

1. If you are only trying to read a single DVD please try multiple ones.
2. The DVD you are trying to read might also be damaged, and we will need to check if there is an issue with a specific DVD or the drive itself.
3. Also, if you have third-party burning software that you use, you will need to close it or uninstall it for the duration of this step.
