ErrorĀ 0x8024001e is one of the oldest errors affecting Windows 10 Mobile build installation. Unfortunately, this bug reared its ugly head in the latest Windows 10 Mobile build as well, as many users reported having encountered it while trying to install the update.

Unfortunately, this is one of the most severe installation errors, and fixing it is not an easy job. According to user reports, soft and hard resets don’t solve the issue. Moreover, after a hard reset following errorĀ 0x8024001e, the phone often crashes.

As stated before, error 0x8024001e is also affecting Windows 10 Mobile build 14926, as users report:

How to fix errorĀ 0x8024001e

The good news is that errorĀ 0x8024001e can be fixed. One lucky Insider shared the workaround he used after encountering errorĀ 0x8024001e, and other users affected by this error quickly confirmed thisĀ solutionĀ worked.

[…]Ā I gave up and soft resetĀ my phoneĀ by holding the volume down key and power button at the same time until the phone vibrates and then restarts. After which, I went to Settings >> System >> About >> Reset your phone. After the phone has reset, I did not go through the setup process on the phone. Instead, I used the Windows Device Recovery Tool on myĀ PC and finally, my phone was rolled back to Windows Phone 8 and then was able to update to 8.1 and finally upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile.
