The release versions of the Windows 10 Calculator, Alarms and Clock apps have been updated with fresh looks courtesy of Fluent Design. In addition, Microsoft just released an important update for the Fast Ring version of the Windows Store, with the company updating it with the Acrylic look. Microsoft didn’t stop there, either: more apps were recently updated outside the Fast Ring with new Fluent Design-inspired changes.

Fluent Design, the future of Window’s design

During Build 2017, Terry Myerson talked about Fluent Design and called it a novelty that will deliver harmonious, intuitive, and responsive interactions that will also feature cross-device experiences.

The apps’ title bar, the top, and the bottom sides now feature some new transparency effects with other areas maintaining a more solid white color.

A few weeks ago, the Insider version of this application refreshed its looks with transparency effects. Now, the standard version of the app follows its lead. Unfortunately, some users experienced unknown issues while the app was in the process of being updated. It remains to be seen in the future how all of the new features will turn out and if they’ll work as planned.

If you go to the Windows Store right now, you will be able to get all the updates and give them a go yourself. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
