Mind mapping is a great way to organize better your work or just to express ideas and concepts easier by starting from a central notion. You can transform your Windows 8 device into a real mind mapping tool if you use the right apps for that.

In the past, we have featured another interesting mind mapping app for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, called Mind8. Now I’ve seen a new interesting mind mapping application called “Mind Architect” and have decided to cover it for those in need of such tools. Released by Ambiera, the app is really lightweight with a size less than 2 megabytes but is pretty costly at $11.99. However, there’s a free trial available, so you can try out the app and see if it’s worth the money or not.

mind mapping windows 8Mind Architect app for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 is a really cool mind mapping tool that you can use to create professional mind maps, with plenty of useful features. Inside the app you will be able to choose from multiple predefined styles which let you color the links between subjects. Also, to make your mind map look great, you can embed images and even use tables so that it looks more descriptive and easier to understand.

What’s really cool is that you have the ability to export your mind map as JPG, PNG and in other formats. However, when trying out the free version of the app, you won’t be able to export mind maps. While I have no complaints about the app itself, I’d somewhat wish for more features from an app that asks you more than $10 to get it. But it looks awesome on a Windows 8 tablet, nonetheless.
