Toddlers is the latest, free update for The Sims 4, complete with a pack of new little Sims with whom your own Sims can share “cute, heart-warming moments.”

With Toddlers, you can capture the moments of growth that highlight the special bonds between parents and toddlers. The Sims 4 also added more than a hundred new animations, interactions, outfits, and objects.

Meet the Toddlers

While the new adorable Sims bring most of the features you love about the previous iterations of this age group, Toddlers also introduces new content to The Sims 4. This includes new Create-Your-Sim content like clothing, hair, and teeth, letting you customize your Toddlers too.

The update also allows you to create Toddlers in Create A Sim. Simply choose the toddler’s age in CAS and you can then change the way they look by customizing their eyes, mouth, chin, cheeks, and weight. Toddlers also bring with them a bookcase, bed, a high chair, nesting blocks, and more.

Differences from Toddlers in The Sims 2 and 3

The Frequently Asked Questions page about Toddlers describes toddlers in The Sims 4 as “more active and capable than Toddlers we’ve seen in previous iterations of The Sims.” The Sims 4 focuses on the development and growth that occurs during the toddler age.

Compared to toddlers in the previous versions of Sims, toddlers in the Sims 4 do not drink from bottles, sleep in a crib, or crawl. The new Toddlers also walk unsteadily and may stumble sometimes, but they have improved their ability to run around the house.

Gain Toddler skills

You can unlock various Toddler skills by performing various actions such as walking to gain a movement skill and socializing to get a communication skill. You can also play with nesting blocks to gain an imagination skill. Engage with objects and the world around the Sim to acquire more skills. If all else fails, you can get help from a caregiver. The new Toddler skills include Communication, Imagination, Thinking, Movement and Potty.

Toddler Traits

You can select a Toddler Trait if your toddler Sim ages up from a Baby (or in CAS). The game also prompts you to select a valid Child Trait when the toddler ages to a child. The new Toddler Traits include Angelic, Charmer, Clingy, Fussy, Independent, Inquisitive, Silly and Wild.
