Durability of a tablet is very important, especially if you carry it with yourself during traveling. So the company called Juniper Systems, whose main focus is producing ultra-durable devices, announced a new ultra-rugged tablet, Mesa 2 Rugged Tablet, a few days ago.

Mesa 2 is the company’s first ever handheld device to run Microsoft’s Windows 10 operating system. It delivers exceptional performance, with Intel’s Quad-core processor, and its 7-inch screen makes this device easy to carry.

‘The Mesa 2 is in a new class relative to our other rugged devices’, said Simon Bowe, general manager at Juniper Systems Limited. ‘It features the same degree of outstanding quality and ruggedness as our other products, and the Mesa 2 offers users more software options and greater processing capabilities because it runs on Windows 10. The Mesa 2 was designed to improve productivity at every point in data collection, from initial data gathering, to later analysis, and through the decision-making process. It’s a tablet optimised for efficiency, designed to be “your office, anywhere”’.

The first Ever IP68-rated Windows 10 tablet

Mesa 2 is the first IP68-rated Windows 10 device to date, and it is design to perform reliably in various environments. The device is completely protected against dust, water, humidity, sand, altitude, shock, and high temperature. Mesa 2 also features Juniper Systems’ own IllumiView display, which provides compete visibility in any lighting condition.

8-10 hours of battery life should be more than enough for your working day, buy you can extend it even more with swappable battery packs, which provide additional 4-5 hours of battery life.

If you’re not familiar with the term IP68, it is a part of IP (Ingress Protection) ratings. These ratings are used to define level of sealing effectiveness or electrical enclosure against foreign bodies, like dirt, water, etc. Being IP68-rated means that the device is fully “dust tight” and protected against “complete, continuous submersion in water.”

The Mesa 2 Rugged Tablet is expected to be available in early spring, for more info about the device, visit Juniper Systems’ official website.
