While it’s not an official Picasa app for Windows 8, Picasa HD is a very good one; and it recently has received an update for Windows 8.1

If you’ve been reading Wind8Apps for a while, you know that we’ve been struggling to find a good Picasa app for Windows 8 for a few months now. Picasa HD seems to be the right choice and even better, it has recently received support for Windows 8.1 with a recent update. While looking in the Windows Store today, I’ve discovered that Picasa HD for Windows 8 has been updated and the release not says the following: supports large tile on start screen
and bug fixes.

Support for large tiles on the start screen has been introduced with Windows 8.1 and this means you now have new tile sizes. If you choose to pin Picasa to your Windows 8 start screen, you now have to option to choose the large tile size. I’ve also seen reports that some folks have had Picasa crash in Windows 8.1 or other problems, so the bug fix notification is probably aimed at them.

The app can use your removable storage and your pictures and videos library. By using Picasa HD on Windows 8 or Windows RT, you can browse your Picasa albums and view your Picasa photos with Picasa HD. Even more, with this app, you can even create slideshows with fade and zoom effects. Use the download link from below to install Picasa HD on your Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 device.
