Acer has unveiled its new fleet of Windows 10 devices focused on delivering better performance and extra-portability. One of these new devices is Acer Switch Alpha 12, an ultra-portable notebook you can use as a tablet as well.

Thanks to its versatile kickstand and detachable wireless keyboard, you can rapidly switch between the notebook and the tablet mode. The Acer Active Pen comes as an optional accessory that will allow you to dive into the Windows Ink experience. You can write or draw as if it were on paper.

The Acer Switch Alpha 12 has a 12-inch display offering a  2160×1440 resolution. The only slight problem could be the glossy screen that could pick up a lot of reflections in a sunny environment. The device measures only 11.5 x 7.93 x 0.62-inches and weighs just 2.76 pounds/ 1.25 kg when the keyboard is connected.

You can choose from three models powered by different 6th Generation Intel Core processors: Core i7, Core i5 or Core i3 depending on your needs. A silent liquid cooling system developed by Acer itself, called Acer LiquidLoop™, is used to dissipate the heat generated by the powerful processor without the regular humming noise of a fan-based cooling system.

Acer Switch Alpha 12 is the industry’s first fanless 2-in-1 notebook to use a 6th Generation Intel® Core, as Jerry Hou, general manager of Acer’s Commercial & Detachable Notebooks department says:

The Switch Alpha 12 is part of Acer’s new generation of mobile 2-in-1 products that focuses on providing exceptional performance, while also remaining cool and quiet.

Thanks to its extraordinary computer power, you can jump from games to presentations in a split of a second. Irrespective of the chosen model, this device will deliver an 8-hour battery life, enough to fuel you through the day.

The Acer Switch Alpha 12 will land in the United States and Canada in June. The price tag will start at $599.99 and will vary depending on the model you choose. For some of the best 2-in-1 hybrid devices running Windows 10, we recommend you to check out our list with top choices.
