Surface Book 2 pre-orders are now live, buy yours now
The new Microsoft Surface Book 2 is now ready for pre-order. With prices starting at $1499, Microsoft is promising it to be the ‘most powerful Source ever.’ But what is in store for us in this second generation notebook?
What does the Surface Book 2 have in store for us
- Starting at $1499
- Available in 13.5” or 15” PixelSense Display
- High-speed Intel processors (dual-core and quad-core available)
- Up to 1060 NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics
- New USB-C port
- Starting at 3.38 lbs (1,534 g) including keyboard
Not only does the Surface Book 2 promise us power to run pro software, but it also has a 17 hour battery life. Microsoft estimates this to be a 70% increase in battery life when compared to the MacBook Pro. This will certainly be something that will make potential buyers excited.
Microsoft has also offered a special price for parents, teachers, and students. This special price would give a discount of around $150 to those who qualify. To receive the discount you can pre-order it through the Microsoft website and click the link provided.
Is the price worth it
The Surface Book 2 seems to perform as well, if not better, in most areas, but the prices continue to rise in the new notebooks. A Reddit user explains his opinion on the value of the Surface Book 2:
I don’t disagree that this is overpriced, but it does have a couple things going for it. The tablet mode + pen support, good if you’re doing any kind of drawing or note-taking. I realize there are cheaper touchscreens, but I’ve heard pretty good things about pen support on the surface line. Also the battery life. Those claims are really impressive for something packing a 1060 and you won’t see that in cheap gaming laptops. Plus it just looks sleek and cool. That’s not a practical reason at all, but it does draw people in.
With a release date that falls perfectly in line with Black Friday and Christmas shopping the Surface 2 will surely be a hot item this year. Please let us know what your thoughts are in the comments below.
