What is Comodo Internet Security?

Comodo Internet Security is a freemium Internet security suite developed and distributed by Comodo Group. It includes an antivirus program, personal firewall, sandbox and a host-based intrusion prevention system.

Comodo Internet Security Premium version 6.0 obtained the AV-TEST certificate in the field of home products for the first time in Feb 2013. The latest tests showed many improvements and got the product a score of 17.5/18 in February 2018.

How much does Comodo cost?

Comodo Internet Security is a free antivirus suite, but for more advanced features you have to upgrade. The Internet Security Complete pack is now on sale for $59.99. Find out the latest offers and more information on the official website.

Internet Security vs. Security Antivirus

The main difference is that an Antivirus protects your PC specifically against viruses spread through the Internet, via malicious downloads, infected e-mail attachments and files or documents. On the other hand, Internet Security suites have a wider range of protection from internal threats (on your local network), as well as external threats on the internet like ransomware, adware, trojans, spyware, etc.

Although, a free antivirus software should be able to do the basics at the very least like rooting out malware from your system (on an ongoing basis) to prevent such threats in real time, plus antispam and anti-phishing protection for your internet security, among other simple features.

Choosing the security options depends on the type of activities you are using the PC(s). If you want an antivirus for business, consider a fully paid security suite. For your personal use, you can check out the best truly free antivirus solutions.
