Cortana for Xbox One Preview just received a new update. The new update for Microsoft’s virtual assistant in Xbox One’s version of the Windows Insider program brings a few bug fixes and improvements and introduces support for a few more languages: Cortana for Xbox One Preview is now available in French, Italian, German, and Spanish.

Here’s the complete changelog of the latest update for Cortana on Xbox One Preview:

  • Cortana is now available in France, Italy, Germany, and Spain.

If you live in these regions and would like to begin using Cortana, just follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the Guide and navigate to All Settings.
  2. Navigate to System > Cortana Settings.
  3. When prompted, select “I agree” to enable Cortana.

You can launch Cortana from My games & apps or snap Cortana from the Guide. To learn a few commands, just say “Hey Cortana, what can I say?” in your language.

If you decide to opt out of Cortana, just repeat the steps above to toggle Cortana On/Off. Opting out of Cortana will re-enable the Xbox legacy voice commands.

Game Trials

  • Resolved an issue which could cause game trials to be available for less or more than the intended amount of time.

System Update

  • Resolved an issue which could cause system updates to fail while being applied.

  • You may encounter an error when attempting to view the TV details page for Live TV content.

All these languages and features are already available on the Windows 10 version of Cortana. But of course, the virtual assistant is the most advanced on this operating system and platforms like Xbox One still need to catch up. Until recently, this update for Cortana on Xbox One Preview was only available in the US and UK.

Microsoft has made huge progress with Cortana for Xbox One so far, with even more exciting features to come. The company started delivering updates to the Xbox One version of the virtual assistant more aggressively lately, so we should expect to see other features very soon.

Are you an Xbox One Preview member? What features do you expect to come next? And what’s your experience of using Cortana on this platform? Tell us in the comments.
