Evernote is a freemium application that was designed for organizing, taking notes and archiving. The application is developed by the Evernote Corporation, a private company headquartered in Redwood City, California. Using this application, users can create and store notes, which can be a simple text, a full page, a photograph, a “handwritten” note or even a voice memo, across platforms.
Recently, reports have suggested that the Evernote Corporation is working on a new application that will be released for Windows 10 and the company finally announced an official Evernote app for Windows 10 PC on August 2, 2016. The company added that the current Evernote Touch will not be supported in Windows anymore, but users who have already installed it on their computers will still be able to use it. However, Evernote Touch will not receive any new updates and it will be removed from the Windows Store.

It seems the company decided to discontinue Evernote Touch in favor of the new Evernote application because it is based on Centennial, which means this application will not be available for smartphones anymore and will only function on computers. However, the features of the Evernote application for Windows PC will be very similar to the ones currently found in the Evernote Touch application.
If you are running Windows 10 on your computer and you have automatic updates turned on, then as soon as the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is released on August 2, 2016 your Evernote Touch will be automatically updated to the latest version of Evernote for Windows PC.
HINT: Keep in mind that you will have to first install Windows 10 Anniversary Update before trying to update the Evernote Touch application!
