GitHub for Windows 8.1 had just received an official update, as the GitHub 2.0 version can be anytime downloaded on your device. Of course, in case you are already using the 1.3 version of the software on your Windows 8, 8.1 powered device, the update will be applied automatically when you will be prompted with the proper notification (for applying the update you just have to go online).

First of all, with this major update you will get a better user interface, as GitHub has been significantly improved. The software is now cleaner and smoother and everithing is now focusing on your projects and on your work – your work is now displayed “front and center” and you don’t need to move back and forward between your projects as you would have to do in GitHub 1.3. A new sidebar has been added on the left side of the GitHub main window from where you can anytime access your local repositories. So, you can now easily create, clone and publish various repositories right from the main window of the software.
Moreover, with GitHub 2.0 for Windows 8.1 you pick an ignore file template for your project, while the program also includes emoji and gifs in your commit messages. This redesigned platform along with other improvements that have been added are bumping the speeds, you work being now smoother and easier to develop and manage.
