Graphical user interface

In computing, the graphical user interface (commonly referred to as GUI) is a type of user interface that allows users to interact with electronic devices using images rather than text commands.

More precisely, GUI displays objects that convey information, including icons, cursors, or buttons. They change color, size, or visibility when the user interacts with them.

Given these properties, GUIs can be used in PCs, as well as handheld devices such as MP3 players, portable media players, smartphones, gaming devices, or a variety of household appliances.
