Software developer Nirsoft has come up with a new program called GUIPropView. The application helps users have a more complete view of everything that’s going on and what kind of processes their machines are running.

Sometimes, various locations or applications on your hard drive will be open and running in the background, without you even knowing because their respective windows aren’t open. A software like GUIPropView helps you see exactly what is running and what isn’t. By enabling its option to view hidden processes, you make sure that nothing escapes your eye.

Nirsoft’s creation will display a list of all ongoing processes and will provide detailed information on every process.

The GUI in GUIPropView stands for Graphical User Interface, and the program offers an extended view of said interface’s properties, hence the rest of the name. Nirsoft developed the app with all Windows iterations in mind, going as far back as Windows XP, including the iconic OS itself. Additionally, it is supported on both 32 and 64-bit platforms, and requires no installation. Being a portable application no doubt has its perks, including the “ready for use” status.

While the software is useful, it’s true that not every computer user out there will be able to make use of it, or ever require such an app, so it can’t be placed in the “must have” program category. However, it is a situational tool and for a lot of people it might come in handy.
