Halo Wars 2 fans will be happy to find out that Microsoft is planning on pushing out a new game mode on the 20th of January and it will be something no one really expected: Blitz.

The new Halo Wars 2 Blitz game mode will be taking Microsoft’s RTS and adding some card game flavor to it. With a card based gaming experience integrated into Halo Wars 2, the game will increase in both value but and originality.

There aren’t a lot of RTS games that implement card-game features as well, so it will be interesting to see how the new Halo Wars 2 game mode will play out. According to Microsoft, players can expect an action packed gameplay courtesy of the Halo branding, coupled with a new, unique gameplay experience brought by the elements which you might expect to make up a card game.

It will take quick decision making and fast reaction time to thrive in Blitz as you assemble your own deck with cards and units from the different available categories such as infantry, ground or air.

Again, the game mode will be available on the 20th of January and will make its way not only to Xbox One but also to Windows 10. It will be interesting to observe the progress made by this new Halo Wars 2 mode. If one thing’s for sure, it’s the fact that we need more games which aren’t afraid to take fresh initiatives.
