Noi di Windows Report abbiamo notato un nuovo prompt all&#8217;avvio in Chrome Beta che copre gran parte della pagina Nuova scheda e chiede agli utenti di impostare Chrome come browser predefinito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chrome utilizza una grande guida visiva all&#8217;interno del dialogo per mostrare agli utenti esattamente dove devono andare. Il dialogo ha anche un pulsante Riduci a icona nell&#8217;angolo in alto a destra, il che gli conferisce l&#8217;aspetto di una finestra separata piuttosto che di un tipico prompt del browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il messaggio utilizza anche le funzionalit\u00e0 di sincronizzazione di Chrome come parte della sua proposta. Dice agli utenti:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMantieni le tue password, i segnalibri e la cronologia perfettamente sincronizzati su tutti i dispositivi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poi aggiunge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAccedi facilmente alle funzionalit\u00e0 che conosci e apprezzi aggiornando il browser predefinito a Chrome.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La formulazione lega la richiesta alle password, ai segnalibri, alla cronologia e ad altre funzionalit\u00e0 di Chrome invece di presentarla semplicemente come un&#8217;impostazione di Windows per l&#8217;app predefinita.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La finestra di dialogo ha due opzioni: Set later e Open settings. Quest&#8217;ultima apre solo le Impostazioni di Windows. Chrome richiede comunque all&#8217;utente di effettuare la modifica manualmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/windowsreport.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/chrome-beta-default-browser-windows-settings.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1504349\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Crediti immagine: Venkat | Windows Report.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Abbiamo selezionato Open settings quando \u00e8 apparso il prompt e abbiamo controllato la pagina Impostazioni di Windows senza rendere Chrome il browser predefinito. Lo stesso prompt di Chrome \u00e8 apparso di nuovo a un avvio successivo. \u00c8 troppo presto per dire se Chrome lo mostrer\u00e0 ripetutamente dopo che gli utenti selezionano Set later, poich\u00e9 al momento non avevamo utilizzato quell&#8217;opzione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ci\u00f2 \u00e8 particolarmente evidente perch\u00e9 il prompt appare non appena Chrome si avvia. Gli utenti che vogliono semplicemente aprire il browser vengono accolti da una grande richiesta di modificare un&#8217;impostazione di Windows prima di poter iniziare a navigare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chrome ha diversi modi esistenti per chiedere agli utenti di renderlo il browser predefinito, ma questo test mette quella richiesta in primo piano all&#8217;avvio. Per un browser che le persone aprono per navigare sul web, le dimensioni e il posizionamento di questa finestra di dialogo lo fanno sembrare pi\u00f9 invadente di un normale promemoria per il browser predefinito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Potrebbe trattarsi di un altro esperimento di Google che ha raggiunto solo un piccolo gruppo di utenti Chrome. L&#8217;abbiamo notato in Chrome Beta e non \u00e8 chiaro quanto ampiamente Google stia mostrando il nuovo prompt.
