In <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MsftSecIntel\/status\/2085841121637229038\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">un post dettagliato su X<\/a>, Microsoft Threat Intelligence ha condiviso che il gruppo, motivato da finalit\u00e0 economiche, ha iniziato a distribuire il malware il 2 agosto, segnando la prima attivit\u00e0 osservata da Microsoft da aprile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-storm-1175-has-moved-beyond-medusa\">Storm-1175 \u00e8 andato oltre Medusa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>StormEncryptor rappresenta un cambiamento significativo per il gruppo. In precedenza, Storm-1175 era associato a rapide campagne ransomware con Medusa. Il nuovo ransomware \u00e8 scritto in <strong>C++<\/strong> e aggiunge l&#8217;estensione <code>.encrypted<\/code> ai file presi di mira. Rilascia inoltre una nota di riscatto <code>!!!README_FIRST!!!.txt<\/code> all&#8217;interno delle directory analizzate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Microsoft non ha confermato esattamente come Storm-1175 abbia ottenuto l&#8217;accesso durante questa campagna. Tuttavia, l&#8217;azienda ritiene che l&#8217;attore possa star sfruttando <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cve.org\/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-18577\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CVE-2026-18577<\/a>.
