Microsoft ha gi\u00e0 sperimentato in passato l’avvio automatico di Edge all’accensione di Windows. Edge sta ora testando l’opzione “Smart launch” in una versione Canary, che pu\u00f2 aprire il browser all’avvio in base a quando ritiene che tu abbia pi\u00f9 probabilit\u00e0 di utilizzarlo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da tempo i browser offrono opzioni di avvio per gli utenti che desiderano avere il browser pronto non appena accedono a Windows. Questo pu\u00f2 evitare di dover aprire il browser manualmente dopo aver avviato il PC, anche se pu\u00f2 anche avviarlo quando non serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nella versione Canary di Edge, Microsoft ha aggiunto la nuova opzione in Settings > Start, home, and new tab page > On startup. L’impostazione “Allow Microsoft Edge to launch automatically” \u00e8 disattivata per impostazione predefinita nella build che abbiamo testato, quindi gli utenti devono attivarla prima che Edge possa avviarsi automaticamente all’avvio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dopo aver attivato l’impostazione, Edge offre due opzioni: “Smart launch” e “Always launch at startup”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’opzione Smart launch indica che Edge si aprir\u00e0 all’avvio “quando hai pi\u00f9 probabilit\u00e0 di utilizzarlo, in base alla tua attivit\u00e0 recente su Edge”. Microsoft non spiega quale attivit\u00e0 controlla Edge n\u00e9 come decide quando avviare il browser.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La seconda opzione, Always launch at startup, funziona come suggerisce il nome. Edge si apre ogni volta che il dispositivo viene avviato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questo test differisce dal precedente esperimento di avvio automatico di Microsoft. In quel test, Edge poteva avviarsi automaticamente all’accensione di Windows. La versione Canary pi\u00f9 recente, invece, offre agli utenti un’impostazione di consenso esplicito e consente di scegliere in che modo Edge gestisce gli avvii all’accensione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il nuovo test non sembra costringere Edge ad aprirsi sui dispositivi degli utenti. Microsoft sta invece verificando se l’attivit\u00e0 recente di Edge possa aiutare a decidere quando il browser debba avviarsi all’accensione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
