For the most part, the Anniversary Update has made many Windows 10 users happy. Now, Microsoft is starting to roll out new features and improvements to the operating system’s many apps. The tech giant is bringing a series of new, simpler settings to the Microsoft Family app for safer experiences for families.

While the new option allows users to better protect children when using a computer, it can only be enabled with Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer.

The main aim of this update is to keep children safe on the internet, which is why Microsoft lets parents set a time limit for computer usage. Moreover, they will also be able to restrict any offline usage and have complete control over the computer.

In addition, it is now easier to place restrictions on the kinds of content that can be accessed through the Microsoft Store. Despite all these well-intentioned changes, it seems restricting browsers use will receive much outrage, despite Microsoft trying to explain it way through its assurance that the web is safer through Edge and Internet Explorer.

Fortunately, parents still have the possibility to allow their children to use to other browsers if they like. For more information on how you can change the Microsoft Family default settings imposed by Microsoft, go to the app’s official website.
