plug and play Kano PC releasing Oct 21

Microsoft is going to collaborate with Kano on a new project. This project is aimed at encouraging kids to build their own Windows tablet PCs and develop programming skills.

Kids aged 6 and above will get a Kano PC kit that develops their interest in software coding, and specifically computers.

The kit features various hardware components. Students can create their custom Windows 10 tablet by connecting the components included in the kit.

The tablet features a 4GB DDR3 RAM, 1.44GHz quad-core processor, 11.6-inches wide display and 64GB storage capacity. The Kano PC has a MicroSD card slot to extend the existing memory.

The interesting part is, you can convert the tablet into a laptop when required. The kit includes a detachable keyboard for that purpose.

Learn to code with Coding projects

According to Kano, the student gets a chance to study the labeled parts with the help of a magnifying glass. They can explore the printed circuit board.

As a matter of fact, all the components can be seen without the keyboard cover and the transparent back.

The tablet replaces an instructor to educate your kids regarding the internal working of a computer. The device comes with different educational apps that teach your child to code.

Students will learn how to create games, music and digital art through the Coding projects.

Additionally, the PC will be powered by Windows 10. However, the students can only install apps from the Microsoft Store. It is because the pre-installed Windows comes in S mode.

Don’t worry, the change of mode won’t cost you anything. The Kano PC will have access to the Office suite via Microsoft Store.

A great idea indeed!

The idea looks pretty amazing as many computer users don’t even know how the hardware components look like.

According to many Reddit users, the Kano PC will help kids to learn programming at a younger age. Some wish that this product was available in their childhood.

We live in the age of ‘experiences’ this is a computer science education experience package for $299 includes a free windows kid tablet.

Interested? Starting Oct. 21, Kano PC kit goes on sale in the UK, Canada, and the US for $299.
