In a new blog post, Microsoft showcases the new People Hub in Outlook 2013, which will be a part of the Office 2013 productivity suite. Outlook 2013 is now more social than ever and comes with features that makes it easier to keep in touch with your contacts.

“Office 2013 brings all the people you care about in one place. You can view contacts from multiple email accounts, and updates from social networks, including Facebook and LinkedIn. Office 2013 makes it easy for you to get things done with people,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post. Not only can you connect a contact’s Facebook and LinkedIn data inside Office, but you can also see data, pictures, and recent activity of these contacts right from Outlook! As long as privacy settings allow for others to view these types of data, of course. Microsoft has also updated the “People view” in Outlook by giving it a cleaner interface that allows the user to quickly view a person’s contact information in the Preview Pane. You can even communicate with that contact right from the Preview Pane. Outlook 2013 even allows you to pin someone to your Favorites for easy access. “If you actively manage your contacts to keep their information up to date, you will love the new inline edit feature in Outlook 2013. Just hit the Edit button on the Contact Card, and start typing. For example, this powerful feature makes it easier than ever to add a field such as a second home phone number,” Microsoft adds.
