Microsoft Surface 3 now available for sale in the US

Back in March, Microsoft unveiled the affordable Surface 3 tablet, offering users a tablet which can also take the place of your laptop — provided you don’t require too much horsepower for your daily tasks. The tablet was up for pre-orders, but starting today, customers interested in the Surface 3 tablet can grab it from a wide range of retail locations in the US, including Amazon, Best Buy and Microsoft Store.

The 64GB Surface 3 costs $499, but if you require more storage, you’ll have to shell out $599 for the 128GB variant. At the moment, it’s only the WiFi variant of the tablet, there’s no word about the exact availability date for the LTE model.

As a quick recap, the Surface 3 features a 10.8-inch display sporting a resolution of 1,920 by 1,280 pixels, Intel Atom X7 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of internal storage. The tablet also features an 8MP rear camera, 3.5MP front-facing camera, USB 3.0 port, microSD card reader, mini displayport, and ships with Windows 8.1 as its operating system out of the box.

We’ve already tried the tablet, and were pretty impressed with what it has to offer. You can check out first impressions here.
