Microsoft unveils three new Xbox models including a disc-less white Xbox Series X

Microsoft has launched pre-orders for its latest Xbox Series X and S models, the new versions announced earlier this year, and let us say, they’re exactly what this series needed.

Xbox Series X and S now come in white

The crown jewel of this new lineup is the Xbox Series X special edition, boasting a hefty 2TB hard drive and cloaked in an enigmatic Galaxy Black. This design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a nod to the infinite possibilities that gaming represents, with a colour scheme that evokes the mystery and allure of the cosmos. Priced at $599.99 in the US and €649.99 in most of Europe, it’s a premium offering for those who want the best.

But what if you’re leaning towards something a bit more minimalistic? Microsoft’s got you covered with a white-coloured Xbox Series X with a 1TB hard drive and a sleek, diskless design. This digital-only console, announced already, is available for pre-order at $449.99. It offers a modern take on gaming for those who prefer digital libraries over physical collections.

Talking of Galaxy Black Xbox Series X, it will feature a disc drive and launches at $599.99 later this year. The Special Edition Xbox Series X has 2TB storage and a revamped design. Xbox hardware chief Roanna Sones talks about the new model and says:

This new special edition Xbox Series X delivers the same speed, performance and features of Xbox Series X, but with twice the storage and a unique design. Drawing inspiration from constellations and the spirit of exploration and adventure that outer space evokes, the special edition console in Galaxy Black features a silver, grey, and green celestial effect representing thousands of games and millions of gamers playing on Xbox.

Not to be overlooked, the Xbox Series S debuts in white, mirroring its bigger sibling’s design language but at a more accessible price point of $349.99. This is a clear signal that Microsoft is catering to a wide range of gamers, ensuring that there’s an Xbox to fit every preference and budget.

All three models are set to ship on October 15 in many countries, with a second wave following on October 29. This global launch underscores Microsoft’s ambition to connect gamers worldwide and offer a unified gaming experience that transcends borders.

Have you decided which Xbox will be your next portal to adventure? Whether you’re drawn to the vastness of space with the Galaxy Black edition or prefer the clean lines of the digital-only models, Microsoft made sure you have options to choose from.
