Microsoft visits Austin, holds court at SXSW

Microsoft has unveiled its plans for the annual tech/music show SXSW — South by Southwest, if you aren’t familiar. The even is held in Austin, Texas, and attracts a number of major music artists, as well tech companies. Microsoft will be there from March 8th through the 10th, and this year is one of the sponsors for the event.

The “Microsoft Studio” will be located at 323 Congress Avenue. The software giant plans to “showcase the company’s innovations in music, gaming, travel, photography and social media from Windows, Xbox, Surface, Windows Phone, Microsoft Research and more”. In addition, the company plans a music event, which will feature Questlove, the drummer and frontman for The Roots.

You will need to RSVP for the events, and these things tend to fill up quickly. Head the Eventbrite website the company has set up for the festivities. If you can’t make it to SXSW, the don’t fret, as there should be plenty of coverage on the web during the event.
