minecraft 32bit support

Minecraft is without a doubt one of the most popular games of all time, available on almost every platform.

However, that might change as Minecraft has plans to drop support for 32-bit operating systems.

Minecraft won’t support 32-bit operating systems anymore

According to Neowin, Mojang has plans to drop 32-bit support for Minecraft. This was also stated on the Minecraft Snapshot 24w14a page.

If you’re not familiar, 24w14a is a preview version of the 1.21, and the final version is set to be released soon. This means that if you want to continue playing, you need to install a 64-bit version of Windows 10.

The update also brings other requirements in the form of Java 21, but that won’t be a problem for most games.

We’re not surprised by this change, since the vast majority of PCs are using 64-bit operating systems, and optimizing for an outdated architecture isn’t on the list of priorities for Mojang.

Speaking of Minecraft, Minecraft might finally make its way to PlayStation 5, so if you’re a PS5 owner, stay tuned for more information.
