NTDEV’s lightweight Tiny11 OS recently got an update adding a host of new features. Tiny11 2311 essentially mimics the recently-released Windows 11 23H2, meaning it will include many of the same additions such as native RAR support, custom RGB settings and more in addition to a slew of minor bug fixes.

Perhaps most notable in Tiny11 2311 is Windows Copilot support, which has also been made available on Windows 10. Although Windows 10 support is set to wrap up in 2025, it could prove for Microsoft a worthwhile test ground for the AI-powered assistant feature as Windows 11 has thus far seen a relatively slow adoption rate among users. Windows 10 reportedly has over 1 billion users, while Windows 11 adoption is still under half that figure. Copilot on Windows 10 will see an incremental feature release over the coming months.

For those unfamiliar, Tiny11 is a lightweight Windows 11 version designed to run on machines with less than 4GB RAM, and reportedly can run on as little as half a gigabyte of storage. The OS is ideal for those who want to run Windows 11 on older and lower-end machines. This latest Tiny11 update reduces the size of the OS even further…by an impressive 20% according to NTDEV’s social media posts on the update. Tiny11 users will now get cumulative updates.

While some may find Tiny11 useful, it should be noted that various stability issues have been reported with the OS including blue screen errors and the like. Additionally, the developer does not recommend installing Tiny11 on devices that are powerful enough to run Windows 10 or 11.
