GitHub beleeft een behoorlijk zware middag. Wat begon met specifieke serviceproblemen is uitgegroeid tot een wijdverbreide storing die ontwikkelaars, repositories, API’s, Copilot en authenticatie treft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Storing bij GitHub breidt zich snel uit naar kerndiensten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

De eerste offici\u00eble update<\/a> werd op 17 augustus om 13:41 UTC gepubliceerd, toen GitHub een verminderde beschikbaarheid meldde voor API Requests. Pull Requests, Issues, Actions, Webhooks en Pages kwamen daar al snel bij. Om 14:24 UTC bevestigde GitHub foutpercentages van ongeveer 20% bij tal van webervaringen en API-verkeer. Het bedrijf zei dat het de hoofdoorzaak onderzocht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De storing begon vervolgens naar verluidt om 14:31 UTC ook Copilot te treffen. Pull Requests en Issues bleven problemen melden, terwijl ook Git Operations en Webhooks verslechterden. Na een tijdje meldde GitHub een veel bredere impact. Archiefdownloads en downloads van ruwe repository-inhoud vertoonden foutpercentages van ongeveer 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laatste update over de GitHub-storing wijst op een breder probleem<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In de laatste update van GitHub om 16:16 UTC is te lezen dat webervaringen en API-verkeer nog steeds ongeveer 20% fouten vertonen. Archiefdownloads en downloads van ruwe repository-inhoud blijven met ongeveer 50% bijzonder getroffen. Ook authenticatie en enterprise-functies worden getroffen. GitHub zegt dat SAML, OIDC-authenticatie, SCIM en Team Sync getroffen zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het bedrijf zegt door te gaan met het beperken van de impact, maar heeft de hoofdoorzaak nog niet openbaar gemaakt. Daardoor moeten ontwikkelaars wachten terwijl repositories, implementaties, automatisering en codeerworkflows onbetrouwbaar blijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gebruikersmeldingen bevestigen de omvang van de storing. Ontwikkelaars melden mislukte pull requests, ontbrekende repository-inhoud, mislukte commits en problemen met Copilot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Op een gegeven moment liet Downdetector<\/a> zien dat het aantal gebruikersmeldingen boven de 2600 piekte. Op het moment van schrijven zijn de gebruikersmeldingen echter iets afgenomen. Dat wijst er ook op dat de storing iets afneemt en dat de diensten weer normaal worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
