Microsoft heeft nieuwe personalisatieproblemen in Windows 11 bevestigd na updates die op 27 augustus zijn uitgebracht. Na installatie van de update KB5120998 meldden veel Reddit-gebruikers dat muisinstellingen en bureaubladachtergronden zonder waarschuwing worden gereset. Nu heeft Microsoft beide problemen officieel bevestigd door respectievelijk de sectie “Bekende problemen” en het Windows Release Health Dashboard bij te werken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Windows 11-muisinstellingen worden gereset<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Volgens Microsoft wordt de muisaanpassing blijkbaar op bepaalde niet-Engelstalige Windows-installaties gereset<\/a>. Na installatie van KB5120998 en latere updates kunnen gepersonaliseerde muisinstellingen terugvallen naar de standaardwaarden. Zoals eerder gemeld, heeft het probleem invloed op muiscursorinstellingen en cursoranimaties die via Windows Muiseigenschappen zijn geconfigureerd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microsoft zegt dat codeonderdelen die door niet-Engelstalige Windows-installaties worden gebruikt de oorzaak van het probleem zijn. Getroffen instellingen worden niet correct geladen, waardoor Windows in plaats daarvan standaardwaarden gebruikt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het handmatig herstellen van de gewenste muisinstellingen lost het probleem niet op. Dat betekent dat het herhaaldelijk wijzigen van de cursoropties mogelijk geen blijvende oplossing biedt. Wat de oplossing betreft, zegt Microsoft te werken aan een permanente oplossing via een toekomstige Windows-update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ook bureaubladachtergronden worden getroffen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Een afzonderlijk Windows 11-probleem heeft na dezelfde KB5120998-update van 27 augustus ook invloed op de instellingen voor bureaubladachtergronden. In een update van het Windows Release Health Dashboard<\/a> merkt Microsoft op dat aangepaste bureaubladachtergronden na installatie van de update mogelijk niet worden geladen, waardoor getroffen desktops een effen zwarte achtergrond krijgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andere personalisatieopties kunnen ook worden getroffen, waaronder instellingen voor diavoorstellingen en contrastthema’s. Het bedrijf bevestigde verder dat gebruikers van Windows 11-versie 25H2 en versie 24H2 deze problemen kunnen tegenkomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
