Outlook focused inbox bug

Many Outlook users noticed their emails failed to land in Focused Inbox. Well, if you’ve been experiencing the same problem lately, rest assured, you’re not the only one. This is actually a global issue.

Here’s how one user describes the problem:

Today most of my important email is going to Other tab in Outlook, and my monitoring alerts coming in to Focused.
Anyone else seeing this behaviour?

Microsoft is investigating the issue

The good news is that Microsoft officially acknowledged the problem and promised to release a hotfix as soon as possible.

We’re investigating an issue where emails are being delivered to the ‘Other’ folder rather than Focused. Admins please look for EX186451 in the admin center for more details.

Use this quick workaround

Until Microsoft fixes the problem for good, you can simply turn off Focused Inbox. For more information on how to disable Focused Inbox, you can check out our dedicated guide.

Admins can also set the message header ‘X-MS-Exchange-Organization-BypassFocusedInbox’ with the value ‘true’.
