Numa <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MsftSecIntel\/status\/2085841121637229038\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">publica\u00e7\u00e3o detalhada no X<\/a>, a Microsoft Threat Intelligence partilhou que o grupo com motiva\u00e7\u00e3o financeira come\u00e7ou a distribuir o malware a 2 de agosto, marcando a primeira atividade observada pela Microsoft desde abril.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-storm-1175-has-moved-beyond-medusa\">Storm-1175 foi al\u00e9m do Medusa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>O StormEncryptor representa uma mudan\u00e7a significativa para o grupo. O Storm-1175 estava anteriormente associado a campanhas r\u00e1pidas do ransomware Medusa. O novo ransomware \u00e9 escrito em <strong>C++<\/strong> e adiciona a extens\u00e3o <code>.encrypted<\/code> aos ficheiros visados. Tamb\u00e9m deixa uma nota de resgate <code>!!!README_FIRST!!!.txt<\/code> nos diret\u00f3rios analisados.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Microsoft n\u00e3o confirmou exatamente como o Storm-1175 obteve acesso durante esta campanha. No entanto, a empresa acredita que o agente possa estar a explorar a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cve.org\/CVERecord?id=CVE-2026-18577\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CVE-2026-18577<\/a>. A vulnerabilidade afeta a N-able e envolve uma falha de autentica\u00e7\u00e3o. Foi divulgada a 2 de agosto e, segundo consta, entrou no cat\u00e1logo de Vulnerabilidades Exploradas Conhecidas da CISA no dia seguinte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Microsoft j\u00e1 descreveu o Storm-1175 como um agente que rapidamente transforma em arma vulnerabilidades recentemente divulgadas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-ransomware-attacks-are-moving-fast\">Os ataques de ransomware est\u00e3o a mover-se rapidamente<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Uma vez dentro de uma rede, o Storm-1175 recorre, alegadamente, a ferramentas de administra\u00e7\u00e3o conhecidas para as suas opera\u00e7\u00f5es. A Microsoft afirma que o Storm-1175 utilizou o Mimikatz, juntamente com t\u00e9cnicas de despejo do LSASS. O grupo \u00e9 conhecido por passar rapidamente do acesso inicial ao roubo de dados e \u00e0 implementa\u00e7\u00e3o do ransomware. A Microsoft j\u00e1 observou anteriormente alguns ataques a atingirem a fase de implementa\u00e7\u00e3o do ransomware no espa\u00e7o de um dia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O Microsoft Defender Antiv\u00edrus deteta o StormEncryptor como <em>Ransom:Win64\/StormEncryptor<\/em>.
