By using the Remote Desktop app for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows RT devices, you can connect to a remote PC and your work resources from anywhere you are. Of course, since the idea of this app is to increase portability, the best way to use it would be on a tablet, but you can make use of the app without any issues whatsoever on a desktop or hybrid device, as well. Another similar app that you can use to remotely access your own PC or a “foreign” one is Team Viewer Touch.

According to the changelog of the latest released version, here are the updates that have been made available: a new command bar button has bee added to easily display the on-screen keyboard; also, the ability to manage RemoteApp and Desktop Connections resources directly from the application has been added, a functionality that has been requested by thousands of users worldwide. Of course, various performance and reliability improvements have taken place, as well.

  • access and manage work resources
  • connect to multiple remote desktops at the same time
  • navigate applications in your remote session
  • automatically detect and optimize your connection quality
  • customize settings for all remote connections
