Listening to the internet radio surely has many benefits. But perhaps the biggest one is that it allows you to listen to any station in the world regardless of your location. For example, if you go to a foreign country on a vacation, you’ll still be able to listen to your favorite radio stations without any additional costs.

There are a lot of websites and apps for listening to the internet radio for free, and some of them are pretty good. However, we’re going to get back to the roots and talk about something a little vintage in this article: A Windows program that allows you to listen to the internet radio for free.

That program is called Screamer Radio and is available for all versions of Windows newer than Windows XP, including Windows 10. This is a longstanding application that was introduced way back in 2007. Screamer Radio also supported Windows XP until some time ago, but when the developer released its latest version, it ditched Windows XP support and introduced a couple of minor changes.

Screamer Radio is very easy to use and comes with a handful of pre-loaded radio stations which you can play right after you install the software. In case you can’t find the desired radio station, this program also allows you to add your own radio stations to the playlist so you can listen to what you want.

Radio stations are organized by tags, so if you want to listen to a particular genre, just search for the tag and the program will show you all available radio stations.

Unfortunately, although Screamer Radio supports the internet radio playback, users are not able to record it. This option was available in some of the previous versions of the software, but the developer decided to discontinue it. So, if you’re looking for a program to record internet radio stations, Screamer Radio definitely isn’t the best solution.

Simplicity is Screamer Radio’s biggest plus as you just have to open the program and start listening to the radio, no registration required. It comes as a portable program, so you don’t even have to bother installing it.

If you’re interested in using Screamer Radio, you can download it for free from this link.
