SmartSearch gets an update for Windows users

Microsoft didn’t disclose too many details besides the fact that SmartSearch has been improved for users of the following operating systems:

  • Windows 8.1 Enterprise
  • Windows 8.1 Pro
  • Windows 8.1
  • Windows RT 8.1
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter, Essentials, Foundation, Standard

So, you just need to make sure that you install the KB 2955164 file, along with the KB 2960764 one which is contained within to get this update. I’ve installed it myself and what I’ve observed is that the process of fetching results seems faster especially on my Windows 8 tablet, though I wasn’t able to replicate that on my Windows 8 laptop. What about you, what have you noticed?
