Microsoft Improves Smart Search Functionality in Windows 8.1, 10

Part of the latest updates issued by Microsoft through Windows Update is also one which improves the overal reliability and functionality of the Smart Search feature in Windows 8.1. Find more on this below.
To improve Smart Search reliability, install update rollup 2955164. SmartSearch gets an update for Windows users
Microsoft didn’t disclose too many details besides the fact that SmartSearch has been improved for users of the following operating systems:
- Windows 8.1 Enterprise
- Windows 8.1 Pro
- Windows 8.1
- Windows RT 8.1
- Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter, Essentials, Foundation, Standard
So, you just need to make sure that you install the KBÂ 2955164 file, along with the KBÂ 2960764 one which is contained within to get this update. I’ve installed it myself and what I’ve observed is that the process of fetching results seems faster especially on my Windows 8 tablet, though I wasn’t able to replicate that on my Windows 8 laptop.
