‘Software Update for Lumia with Windows 10’ Support Page Goes Live
The most recent Windows 10 build 10586 has been released for both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile users. While Microsoft hasn’t made it official, it could be the last update before Windows 10 Mobile gets released on November 12.
And as the release date is quickly approaching, now there’s already an official support page that has gone live, called “Software update for Lumia with Windows 10“. Just as the name makes it pretty clear, the webpage will provide instructions for Lumia devices running Windows 10 Mobile.
Previously, it helped Lumia users to know the status of their updates and now it’s going to help them with whatever questions they might have when it comes to Windows 10. Furthermore, on this page you will be able to find information about the latest available Lumia software updates in your region, which means that Windows 10 Mobile will have separate release dates.
You will be given clear instructions on how to update your software to Windows 10, and answers to such questions as:
- What if I do not have enough space in my Lumia for the software update (Windows 10)?
- What if I have trouble installing the Lumia software update (Windows 10)?
- How do I check if there are new updates available for my Lumia phone (Windows 10)?
With the release of this page, Microsoft makes it clear that it’s close to releasing Windows 10 software updates for various smartphones that are currently running Windows Phone 8.1. And, obviously, it wants to be sure that Lumia users are among the first.
Next week is also when Microsoft will likely start selling the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, both of which run Windows 10 out of the box. The first smartphones that will get the Windows 10 update are the following:
- Lumia 430, Lumia 435
- Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540
- Lumia 635 (versions with 1 GB of RAM), Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL
- Lumia 735
- Lumia 830
- Lumia 930
It’s also worth pointing out that Microsoft will take care of Windows 10 updates for smartphones and not the mobile carriers, so it should turn out to be a smooth process.
We will be covering the Windows 10 Mobile release in great depth, so if you want to make sure that you won’t miss any important news, tips or whatnot, go ahead and leave your email below in order to subscribe to our newsletter here at Windows Report.
