Steam Tile App for Windows 8 Receives a Big Update, Still Free to Download
Many are still looking for that moment when Steam will receive an official app on the Windows Store for Windows 8 users, but we need to make use of third-party apps if the desktop app isn’t enough.
There is quite a plethora of Steam-related apps on the Windows Store, but none of them come from the official developer. However, Steam Tile is one of the best you can use and it lets you create handy live tiles to your Steam games, thus making it really easy to launch your Steam games right from your Start screen. Now, it has been update with some new changes.
The Windows 8.1 tile size support has been further improved, various bugs and glitches with the search functionality have been fixed in Windows 8.1 and a new Windows 8.1 style search box has been included, as well. Also, finally, the square tiles size has been added, which means that when you click on a game, you also select which portion of the banner to crop for your square tiles. Also, the developer has chosen to bring back ads, which can be removed for ever with a donation of any amount.
