Microsoft just released new driver and firmware updates to both Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book. These bring improvements targeted at camera stability.

As a quick reminder, Surface Pro 4 devices have been affected by many screen and camera issues lately, and this update comes at the right moment. The update also enhances the device’s reliability.

  • Surface Embedded Controller Firmware: Firmware 103.1791.258.0 for improving the device’s reliability
  • Intel(R) AVStream Camera 2500: Sound, video and GC 30.15063.10999.4731 for enhancing the camera’s stability
  • Microsoft Camera Front: System device 30.15063.10999.4731 on improving the camera’s stability
  • Microsoft Camera IR Front: System device 30.15063.10999.4731 for enhancing the camera’s stability
  • Intel(R) Control Logic: System device 30.15063.10999.4731 for enhancing the camera’s stability
  • Intel(R) CSI2 Host Controller: System device 30.15063.10999.4731 on improving the camera’s stability
  • Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor 2500: System device 30.15063.10999.4731 for enhancing the camera’s stability
  • Microsoft Camera Rear: System device 30.15063.10999.4731 on improving the camera’s stability
  • Surface Camera Windows Hello: System device 1.0.85.1 for enhancing the camera’s stability

The most recent firmware update targeted at the Surface Pro 4 was rolled out last month, and it focused on improving support for the newest Surface Pro Type Covers.

The most recent firmware update targeted at the Surface Book was released back in April after the rollout of the Windows 10 Creators Update.
