Walgreens is one of the largest drug retail chain in the United States and to make it easier for their consumers that use Windows 8, an official Walgreens Windows 8.1 apps has been released in the Windows Store

Walgreens currently operates 8,300 stores in all the 50 states of the United States and is actually the largest drug retailing chain in the country. Now, an official Windows 8.1 app has been made available, after previously the company has received a similar app for Windows Phone 8 users, as well. The app’s description goes like this:

The Walgreens Windows 8 App featuring Refill from Account and QuickPrints, makes your life easier. Refill prescriptions faster, print your mobile photos and pick-up in about an hour.

By using the Windows 8.1 Walgreens application you can locate a Walgreens store near you, if you chose to share your location settings with the app. Here are some other important pharmacy features that it comes with:

  • Refill from Account – make instant refills by scanning the barcode on your prescription bottle
  • Transfer Prescription – the ability to transfer your prescriptions hassle-free to Walgreens
  • Refill Reminders – et Rx Text Alerts t
