A whiteboard, also referred to as a dry-erase board, dry-wipe board, or pen-board, is a variation of the traditional rewriteable schoolroom blackboard. However, this one is white instead of black.
Whiteboards also allow rapid marking of notes on their surface. Moreover, dry erase markers are easier to erase than the good old chalk used on blackboards.
In an attempt to create the feel of traditional blackboards associated with the advantages of digital pens and post-its, Microsoft created its own Microsoft Whiteboard.
The app is compatible with Windows, iPhone, and iPad, yet a free Microsoft account or a paid M365/O365 subscription is mandatory for using it.
