KB4015217 released for for Anniversary Update and KB4015583 for Creators Update

Microsoft just released OS Build 14393.2155 and OS Build 15063.994 to users of Windows 10 Version 1607 aka Windows 10 Anniversary Update and Windows 10 Version 1703 aka Windows 10 Creators Update.

The cumulative updates aren’t including new features, but they bring a few important bug fixes. Here are the most significant ones.

KB4088891 (OS Build 15063.994)

  • The problem with a GDI handle leak in the Windows Ribbon control was fixed.
  • The issue where during BitLocker decryption/encryption of a drive, files that are protected with the EFS may become corrupted was fixed.
  • The issue when an iSCSI request includes an incomplete header in the first packet, iSCSI may not recognize when a request was sent got fixed.
  • The update adds support in stornvme for additional SSDs.
  • The problem where the Japanese keyboard layout was not functioning correctly during a Remote Assistance session was solved.
  • The rendering issue in Microsoft Edge for PDF documents with backgrounds created via third-party publishing tools got fixed.

KB4088889 (OS Build 14393.2155)

  • The problem with a GDI handle leak in Windows Ribbon control got fixed.
  • The issue where customers can’t change the lock screen image from the Settings app was fixed.
  • The issue where during BitLocker decryption/encryption of a drive, files that are protected with the EFS may become corrupted was fixed.
  • The update adds support for more high-speed eMMC devices.
  • The update also adds support in stornvme for more SSDs.
  • The issue where UWF file exclusion failed when non-ASCII characters were used in the directory name was fixed.
  • The issue where the VSS API ResyncLun failed to find the hardware provider was fixed.
  • The issue where an error might occur when the memory manager found an undeleted page table when a process ended was solved.
  • The issue where the AdminSDHolder task fails to run when a protected group contains a member attribute that points to a deleted object was fixed.
  • The issue where users may exist in a trusted domain with transitive trust was fixed.
  • The issue where when Claims Provider Trust is set with OrganizationalAccountSuffix, AD FS does not save the HRD data got fixed.
  • The update fixed a threading issue that might cause the WinRM service to stop working when under load.
  • The issue with the system performance that caused logons to become unresponsive because of a deadlock in the WinRM service got fixed.
  • The issue where the Remote Desktop license report gets corrupted when it exceeds the 4 KB limit was solved.
  • The rendering issue in Microsoft Edge for PDF documents with backgrounds created via third-party publishing tools got fixed.
  • The issue caused by a race condition where Windows Server 2016 may restart with error code 0x18 was also fixed.
