Windows 10 v1903 doesn't have the option to create a local account

Windows 10 version 1903 came with a lot of problems, but Microsoft managed to solve many of them through the upcoming patches.

Now, a new problem surfaced up and it’s not related to bugs, crashes, or any other system errors, but it has more to do with Windows 10‘s installation.

More specifically, a lot of users are very annoyed that Windows 10 v1903 doesn’t have the option to create a local account. Here’s what one user is saying:

Last version of Windows 10 doesn’t have an option to create a local account.

And here’s the OPs screenshot: windows 10 may update no local account option

Admittedly, this isn’t a good look for Microsoft as they do this in good knowledge. The tech giant is more focused on the online accounts that come with a lot more features but also with some shared data to Microsoft.

With an online account you unlock a series of new features like auto syncing apps, cloud storage, auto sign in for Microsoft apps, and many others. But that comes at a price.

The price is your personal info that gets stored on the company’s servers. And it seem like a lot of Windows 10 users are not ready to pay it, as one user confirms:

Yeah all previous versions before had the option to create a local account in the setup. With Microsoft hiding that option more and more with each release. I setup tons of new computers for my job and being disconnected is the only way I’ve found to make a local account in 1903. It’s very frustrating that they are trying to require a Microsoft account to use windows.

The only way to make a local account in Windows 10 v1903 is to turn of internet connectivity and don’t connect to any Wi-Fi network during the setup process.

It’s worth mentioning that connecting/registering to any Microsoft product with your local account it will automatically transform it into an online account.

So if you want to use OneDrive, Office 365, or any other MS official app with your local account, it will automatically become an online account.
