Microsoft has just released an improved version of build 14342 for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview for Insiders on the Fast Ring. The new version is dubbed as Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 14342.1004, and it just brought a few improvements to the OS. No new features were included in this release.

This is the freshest release for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, but we can’t characterize it as a brand new build, since it only improves some aspects of the previous one, without introducing any new features. Windows 10 Mobile build 14342.1004 addresses some of the known issues in Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, including battery life issues on some devices.

Here’s what Microsoft’s Gabe Aul said about the release of Windows 10 Mobile build 14342.1004:

“We are releasing Build 14342.1004 today for Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This build is exactly the same but with some additional fixes including a fix for the battery life issues we were seeing on some devices such as the Lumia 930, 929 and others which was also causing these devices to get hot.”

Original Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview build 14342 brought some issues that gave users headache. It’s good that Microsoft actually heard the feedback for Insiders, and quickly released the update.

Microsoft should also release a brand new build for Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview very soon. As Gabe Aul said on Twitter, Microsoft is currently testing new builds for both Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, and they should arrive as soon as all tests are finished. We don’t know much about the next release, but we assume it will also introduce some improvements to the system, along with a couple of new features, probably.

To install the latest release for Windows 10 Mobile Preview, just go to Settings > Update & security > Phone update, and check for updates. If you’re on the Fast Ring you should’ve received the update already.
