Windows 8, 10 App Piano Time Gets Plenty New Features
Your Windows 8 tablet can be transformed into a real musical instrument if you know the right apps to use for that. In the past, we have featured the Windows 8 Piano8 app and some apps to play guitar on Windows 8. Now, we’re talking about the refreshed version of Piano Time.
Windows 8 tablets are wonderful devices that can be used both for productivity and fun (which might not be that true for an iPad … ). You just need to scout the Windows Store for entertaining apps to download and install on your device. Piano Time is one such app that you can use to play piano on your Windows 8 tablet. The has plenty of downloads and positive ratings and it has recently received many new features.
Piano Time for Windows 8 is now even better
Piano Time is a multitouch piano with 36 visible keys and 4 selectable octaves. With a configurable metronome, users can learn to play the piano or practice their skills, as well as record and playback unlimited songs. Piano Time supports multitouch screen, keyboard, and mouse input. Now you can save and share recordings as MP3s and select from different keyboard mapping options!
I haven’t checked the changelog of this app for quite a long time and when I did, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many new features the developer has added. The latest improvements have brought the ability to change the playback speed, practice songs and even warm up exercises. Besides the traditional bug fixes, the option to save and share MP3 files of your recordings has also been made available. But if we look at some of the previous updates, we see that the developer is taking real good care of the app, here’s some of the most important changes:
- Sharp/flat notation
- Select keyboard mapping (Realistic, AZERTY, Original)
- Updated layout and moved advertisement
- Moved background color and key mapping settings to the settings char
- Improved sound quality with stereo samples
- Better multitouch and swiping support
- Cool new key press and playback animations
- Added Help section in Settings
