First of all, we need to make sure that you understand the distinction between the Rummikub game for Windows 8 and the Gin Rummy cards game that we have previously featured, as well. Albeit they sound similar, these are two completely different games. In this article we’re talking about Rummi, the Windows 8 Rummikub game that has been updated in the Windows Store.

Rummikub on a Windows 8 tablet is now even better

The objective of the game is to be the first to eliminate all the tiles from your rack by forming them into sets of runs and groups, and then melding them onto the table. All runs must consist of at least 3 tiles of the same color and consecutive rank. Groups must consist of 3 or 4 tiles of different colors. A Joker may be substituted for any tile when you make a meld. Once you have placed your initial 30 points down, you are free to play on the table and manipulate and rearrange melds.

According to the release notes, there are now easy, medium and hard levels; and besides this, tiles are now placed in a grid, no overlap, which was a real annoyance before, if you have tried the game. The developer has improved the artificial intelligence of your computer opponents, so it will now be harder to win, which will make the challenge even more interesting. The UX has been improved, as well.
