Windows 10 Camera app update

Microsoft rolled out two new features for the Windows 10 Camera app. Document and whiteboard modes integration have been shipped in the v2019.124.60 update to all users.

The Windows Camera app has not been a priority for Microsoft lately. Most of the other third-party apps available out there offer a lot of enhanced features.

All this time, Windows 10’s built-in camera app offered only basic functionalities.

Windows 10 v2019.124.60 changelog

The changelog for Windows 10 v2019.124.60 Update states that it brings the following changes to your systems:

Document Mode

The Windows 10 Camera uses the Office Lens functionality to scan any type of documents that users need to scan.

Whiteboard Mode

Microsoft has implemented a new functionality named Whiteboard Mode by bringing OfficeLens functionality comes to Camera. The feature lets users scan any type of text or drawing on a blackboard with the help of their Windows 10 camera.

Download the new Camera app

Insiders in the Fast or Skip ahead Ring can now download the update. Or you can download the latest update from Microsoft Store if you own a Microsoft device that has a camera.

Both of these features are expected to be available as a part of the updates releasing later this year.
