Xbox One S update fixes HDR causing black level issues
Microsoft recently rolled out an update for the Xbox One S console, addressing HDR issues. More specifically, the update fixes the annoying black level issues reported by many gamers.
Thanks to this update, bright or faded visuals are now gone. The image quality of captured videos and screenshots has also been improved, as brightness and contrast problems should now be fixed.
The announcement was made by Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra on his Twitter account:
Small update for Xbox One S and HDR – fixes a reported black level issue. HDR is great on Horizon 3, Gears, and more. Snag the update!
However, judging by the user feedback, this update doesn’t completely fix HDR issues. Xbox One S owners reported that Netflix is still broken, and forces HDR at launch even for content that’s not HDR. This issue has already been reported by many users, and it appears that the people affected by this bug need to wait a little bit longer for Microsoft to fix it.
Of course, the Xbox One S owners who expected this update to fix all HDR issues are now a bit disappointed. However, Ybarra did day this was a small update.
Since he mentioned Forza Horizon 3 in his post, we remind you that the game’s developer recently rolled out a patch addressing a series of severe issues such as game crashes and FPS rate drop. The update is available for Windows 10, Xbox One and Xbox One S.
Thanks to these two recent updates, you should now be able to enjoy a seamless Forza Horizon 3 gaming experience.
