Xbox and Inworld AI to release Copilot for game development

Xbox and Inworld AI will release generative AI tools for game development announced Inworld AI in a press release. The two companies will work together to develop AI tools good enough to come up with complex game development, from game design to narrative enrichment and character creation.
The partnership will last for multiple years, and the two companies will develop a Copilot which could assist game studios in developing games much faster than ever.

As with all creator tools at Xbox, our goal is to deliver state-of-the-art AI for game developers of any size, anywhere in the world, and on every platform where players want to play. We want to help make it easier for developers to realize their visions, try new things, push the boundaries of gaming today, and experiment to improve gameplay, player connection and more.

Inworld is already a company that develops AI tools for game creation, and its partnership with Xbox will make use of Microsoft’s cloud-based AI solutions such as Azure OpenAI Services, and Xbox’s expertise in gaming to develop the Copilot.
What would a Copilot for game development be capable of?
We all know by now how Copilot functions. In Windows 11, Copilot is practically an assistant that will take your input to make the experience on the operating system more pleasant.
In Microsoft 365, Copilot will handle all sorts of different data, to come up with solutions to users’ requests. But what would a Copilot for game development be capable of?
In their announcement, Inworld says that this Copilot would be a complex AI tool capable of:
- Assisting and empowering game designers to explore more creative ideas, turning prompts into detailed scripts, dialogue trees, quests, and more.
The two companies will also work on an AI character runtime engine. According to the announcement, it will be capable of:
- Integration into the game client, enabling entirely new narratives with dynamically generated stories, quests, and dialogue for players to experience.
The closed beta for the game development Copilot is already happening, and the company will share more details about it on November 17, at the G-Star Korea event.
