As reported by VGChartz, Starfield’s European launch was the biggest yet for an Xbox game in that territory for this current console generation.

Starfield beat out Forza Horizon 5 for this honor, and is also the fastest-selling new IP of the year in Europe, in addition to being the fifth fastest-selling game overall there in 2023 thus far behind Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo IV, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. It has however beat out Resident Evil 4 and Final Fantasy XVI.

Then you have to consider that these numbers don’t include those playing on Xbox Game Pass, but rather copies sold, which makes it all the more impressive.

Starfield has done well elsewhere as well, hitting over one million concurrent players across all platforms a day after its full release. It was played by over 6 million people just a couple days after. The critical reception has been decidedly positive as well, as seen in our Starfield review roundup post.
