While the Xbox One version of Resident Evil 6 has been available for pre-order since last week, the game is finally available to play on the Xbox One today. If you never played any Resident Evil game before, the franchise is known for having contributed to the shaping of the survival horror game genre. The sixth opus came out in October 2012 on the Xbox 360 and in March 2013 for Windows, but this episode is slightly more focused on epic “Gears-of-War-style” action than pure horror.

Here’s the official description:

Blending action and survival horror, Resident Evil 6 is a dramatic horror experience that cannot be forgotten. Now in high definition, the game offers multiple characters, including fan favorites and new faces, along with solo and co-op modes and new challenges for players, different from any other in the Resident Evil franchise. This edition includes all DLC, along with two costumes per main character, originally exclusively unlockable through Residentevil.net, that are now unlockable through the game itself.

The Xbox One version of the game will cost you $19,99 on the Xbox Store (physical disc versions will also be available in the US), and it comes with all of the extra downloadable content that was released in the months following its initial release. Resident Evil 4 and 5 will also be released on the Xbox One later this year, starting with Resident Evil 5 in the summer. Please tell us in the comments if you plan to get these classic games on your Xbox One.
